My wife asked about turning this miniature “wood branch” seat from a Gnome figurine set into a hollow container, so I explored using photogrammetry to scan it and have it 3D printed instead of modifying the original.
My first attempt at making a uniform lighting rig around the original model. The lighting worked well, but I ended up having to re-do the setup after the photogrammetry software balked at the grid. Back to the drawing board.
I replaced the grid with a radial of colors and numbers which helped the photogrammetry software figure out the orientation of each frame photographed.
Renders of the final model, ready for 3D printing. Cinema 4D with Redshift.
